Setting The Stage for Katie & Luke's St. Louis Love Story.

In the heart of St. Louis, a city known for its iconic Gateway Arch and vibrant culture, I had the pleasure of photographing a truly unique love story. Katie and Luke, a dynamic and bilingual couple who have both spent time living abroad, wanted their wedding celebration to reflect the things that are important to them - their faith, their family and friends, their love of travel and the Spanish language, and their shared passion for music and theatre. I believe it captured all of this and more and I was honored to be a part of their big day!

Katie, a dear friend of mine and partner through a nonprofit in Nicaragua called Teatro Catalina, has known Luke for many years but it wasn't until last year that their friendship blossomed into a romance. And it wasn't long after that, that they knew they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. Their relationship is a testament to the fact that sometimes the love we've been waiting for, has been right in front of us the whole time.

With deep ties to St. Louis, it was only natural that Katie and Luke chose the city as their wedding destination. Their ceremony was held in the church they both grew up in and to take the connection even further, the priest who married them was not only a childhood friend but also Luke's brother-in-law's twin, such a beautiful testimony to God's plan for their life.

The Stifel Theatre in downtown St. Louis set the stage for their grand reception and also gave me the opportunity to capture a special theatrical photoshoot, which highlighted Katie's passion for the theatre and the dramatic charm that defines Katie and Luke's relationship.

The close-knit bond between Katie, Luke, and their families was evident throughout their celebration. From a heartfelt rehearsal hosted by Luke's parents, to a wedding ceremony and reception meticulously planned by Katie and her mom, and finally, to a delightful brunch the following day organized by Katie's mom, their loved ones played an integral role throughout their whole wedding weekend.

Katie and Luke's warmth and kindness are also a magnet for friends. Their wide circle of friends who came from both near and far made their wedding a joyous and fun celebration, reflecting the love and support they have received from so many people throughout their lives.

As their photographer, Katie's trust in my vision allowed me to do what I do best - capture the essence of their love story through the lens.

What truly inspired me was the fact that Katie has always believed I would be her wedding photographer, even years before a marriage proposal was in sight. Her unwavering belief in me and our many years of friendship was a driving force in capturing the beauty of her and Luke's union.
